COOKING AND HOMEMAKING POSTS

A few months ago, I bought myself this water bottle in Hot Pink.   It arrived quickly, but it dribbled.  I reported it to the company and a second bottle arrived 2 days later, this one does not drip and Song loves it.  We have loved making fruit drinks and tea in them.  But drinking from them is awkward because you unscrew the top and the pull tab from the insert is right there splitting the mouth in half, so you turn it so you can drink.  But now your nose bumps the pull tab.  It's not terrible or anything.  And the company is absolutely awesome.  I don't particularly care for this design, but I do plan to try one of their other products soon.   In the meantime, the water bottle has become where I put the tea I make in the morning, and I pour out part into my thermos with ice, and keep adding water from the Brita filter.   Works for me, and I don't have to worry about shattering another French Press.
But I do plan to buy this one in the near future - same company.  Did I mention how amazing their customer service was?

HEALTH POSTS

One woman's diagnosis of being "tired all the time" - I had never heard of this before.  POTS Syndrome.

Using Frankincense for your health - what can it do?   It is an amazing oil that our family reaches for often.  The smell can be overpowering, and a tiny bit goes a long way.  We use it for bruising, headaches, and random pains.  We add a few drops to our coconut oil and black walnut mix to sooth and heal teath and gums.  It is amazing.

PANDAS disorder - mimics autism, but the cause is the strep virus setting up home inside the brain.  It usually manifests after a long bought with a respiratory illness with fevers and maybe strep throat that a person just can't seem to get over.

GARDENING AND BUGS AND PESTS

 How to get Free Land

Garden growing for free - from scraps

Why does it seem that the healthy food we eat needs supplements to keep us healthy?   Our soils have become depleted and the food is decreasing in nutrients.   It is alarming to see this trend that should be preventable.

POLITICS  (Sort of) … HISTORY

School Choice ....  I'm pretty much for it.   I believe that if parents had choices, at least about which Public supported school that children go to.   I also believe that a school should have the option on whether or not to accept the funds because when the government pays for a child to go to a Christian school, the school always ends up watered down in their faith.   It is a tricky slope.   Perhaps it would be better to allow all parents a school refund - as attending public schools is getting quite pricey when it comes to school supplies and extra costs.    But at the very least, children should be allowed to attend any public school that they want to - ANY.  If parents don't mind driving a child 50 miles to go to school, why should that child be forced to attend a school not suited to them.   And most charter schools are public funded.     This would also allow public schools to "specialize" ... a school could be known for the music and art taught, or special needs and blue-collar skills (cooking, life skills, automotive, electrical and plumbing, carpentry, and other hands-on skills lacking today, or a school might excel in sports, or sciences and mathematics, or computers) ....   BUT by allowing schools to specialize and advertise for students, and students to choose what school they want to attend - it's win-win.   And it's a shame that the students that this would help the most ... are those fighting it the hardest.

Then there is that whole kneeling thing .... way back on the first day of it last year.  I said to whoever would listen - not many - that it should not be made a big deal out of it.  Kneeling has always been an act of submission to serve and honor, that you devote your person, your wealth, your life and all that entails to the person, object, or idol that you kneel for  - whether the kneeling is voluntary or forced,   It has always meant submission.    Men fought hard for the right to STAND before our flag to show that we did not have to submit to the whims of the government and that we were above all equal to those who were ruling us.   But what's one homeschooling mom know about the world?

JOBS and FURTHER EDUCATION

My daughter has 2 FREE books to offer today.  One will always be free, and this one has a time limit.  It is fresh off the shelf, all new cover, edited, and some tiny changes in the story.    This is her only allegory, and if you have a Christian child who loves to imagine and create - this is an inspiring story about using the gifts God gives to you.   (affiliate link)
